A "Mad" World
In this visual rendition and auditory remix of "Mad World" by Gary Jules, the music video shows a world much like the current one. People are addicted to phones, technology, fame, celebrities, and much more. The main protagonist, an unnamed kid, of this video is seen running from scary figures as he's ignored by everyone and everything around him. The people making up this society are focused on one entity: technology.
Later, the video switches to another protagonist. This new girl, sees herself being ignored by everyone. She later gets shamed and slandered on social media, leading her to walk down a dark and lonely path that ultimately leads to her suicide. Whilst all of these events unfold, nobody notices her real issues. They are stuck in their phones, too distracted by how this girl will appear on the internet, not how she appears in the actual world. This video, accompanied by the song, gives off a eerily true message. Although many people aren't aware of the grip technology has on humanity, it remains an obvious problem. This project on youtube shows how big of a problem this is, and gives viewers reasons to realize why they need to turn away from a fake, distracting dystopia on their phones and realize that the world will go mad without real people in it.
